Centro Studi GISED

Transplant patients are more susceptible to skin infections and skin cancer due to immunosoppressive treatment. A few years ago Centro Studi GISED set up the Italian register of skin complications in transplant patients and more recently joined the EPI-HPV-UV-CA project. This project, supported by the European Union (contract QLK2-CT-2002-01179), is aimed to evaluate the relation between Human Papilloma virus infection (identified by initials HPV), and skin cancer in transplant patients.
