EPI-HPV-UV-CA

What we do

Transplant patients are more susceptible to skin infections and skin cancer due to immunosoppressive treatment. A few years ago Centro Studi GISED set up the Italian registry of skin complications in transplant patients and more recently joined the EPI-HPV-UV-CA project. This project, supported by the European Union (contract QLK2-CT-2002-01179), is aimed to evaluate the relation between Human Papilloma virus infection (identified by initials HPV), and skin cancer in transplant patients.

Results of the project were published in numerous scientific articles (see here).
